The Story of Vello d’Oro Sheepskin
It starts with a year-long trip to Europe taken, in part, to help care for and support our aging parents living in the mountains of southern Poland on the border with Czechia. During our stay we did what we could to update their home, making it warmer and more manageable. But growing pain and ailments brought our mom and dad exhausting, sleepless nights that medication and various therapies would not ease. We struggled, upset with our inability to make things better.
During this frustrating time, we took a walk in their rural town with our dog, only to find her pulling us toward a vendor selling rustic woolen pelts for the mountain cabins found in the region. This was our first introduction to the incredible softness and warmth that sheepskin provide. We purchased our first pelt as a pet bed.

Seeing how well our little Angel slept on this natural skin, we quickly realized what this wool might be able to do for our parents. With research, we discovered medical-grade sheepskin and soon both our parents had better nights and better health because of their newfound rest.
Not long after, we decided to take a risk and help bring medical sheepskin to those in need in the U.S market. So we began our own quest, but, just like the ancient myth, our search for the Golden Fleece wasn't easy. We took our time and tested pelts from Europe and Asia. A year later, we found our ultra soft, dense wool that we now deliver with pride from tanneries adhering to strict European Union quality standards right in Poland where our story began.
Today, Vello d’Oro delivers sheepskin to individuals and professional caregivers in every state. We’re thrilled our offerings bring protection, warmth, and a life with less pain to those who need it most.
